Quilt Blocks to Heal Violence

Quilt Blocks to Heal Violence

In the media lately, the heartbreaking stories of women being killed by their partners just keep coming. This year alone, the statistics are that 62 women in Australia have been murdered by their intimate partner or a close relative. This is almost 2 women per week. Unacceptable and depressing.

My friend Jackie decided she wanted to do something positive to respond to this issue, so she has started #quiltblockstohealviolence  – a drive for blocks so she can make some beautiful quilts to donate to domestic violence shelters and charities who support and resettle women and children fleeing violent situations.

Loads of wonderful people have heard the call on instagram and there are some fantastic blocks showing up already. Jackie is not a blogger so she has asked me to share the details with you.
