Instagram has become the favourite social media platform for many of us who sew and quilt. The visual medium suits us perfectly having an instagram account is like microblogging. In fact, I know quite a few bloggers who have decided to stop blogging altogether and are now just sharing their work via instagram.
I find instagram really inspirational and I’ve often taken screenshots of amazing pictures just to refer back to a design, fabric combination or pattern. Here are a few of my favourites who consistently share stunning projects.
Too big to get a proper shot but completed top! Another UFO (almost) completed. 6 blocks made by me, the rest by QCA Rainbow Bee no. 3 girls…@curlyquesue & @sewbeecino I think you guys are the only ones on Ig. I was planning 6×6 so I think that’s why it was put away for so long ✂ #xmarksthespotblock #anotherfinish #qcabeeblocks
Carlie is a Melbourne local who I was lucky enough to meet at a recent social sewing day. I love her modern style and fabric choices. Follow her here.

I ‘met’ Sophie a couple of years ago when we were partners in a fabric swap. She snaps lots of pics of works in progress and recent fabric purchases that will have you drooling. Follow her here.
Was lying in bed, waiting to drift off, when it hit me: the “apple pie” motif from @ayumills’ #lightheartedfabric just had to be paired with that little Kokka apple print! These are 1″ shapes, rubber stamped on back of fabric, cut out, and pieced on my #singerfeatherweight. #widrn @nickyeglinton 😘 Tagging anyone who wants to play! #patchwork #quilt #quiltzakka #japanesefabric #hexies
