Ruffle Trim Skirt

My to do list is finally getting smaller. A couple of major projects that were overwhelming me are complete – phew! You can look forward to seeing them soon 😉

This week I’ve made a few new things for my poor neglected shop, and here is the first as modelled by my very happy girl.

I’ve called it the Aviary Ruffle Trim skirt. I struggled to come up with a more creative name! The gorgeous main fabric is Sparrows in Plum from the Aviary 2 range by Joel Dewberry. The polka dot is not from the same range but I really liked the combination.

Using my overlocker made this project a lot quicker than just using my machine, and I experimented with a rolled hem on the ruffle which I was really pleased with.

Aside from the cute girl and the pretty skirt – how awesome is that kid sized rocking chair? A bargain for $20 at the Camberwell Market a few months ago. Anna & Lucy both love sitting in it and rocking away!

I’ve since made two more skirts and they will be listed in the shop shortly. Here is a sneak peek of the main fabric I have used for the them –

The skirts are sized 12 – 18 months but I love custom orders, so if you love it and would like one in another size, I’d love to hear from you! I also have a range of nappy (diaper) pouches, bib sets and onesies available, so if you are after a cute gift, have a look!

  1. Oh so cute! BTW hubby's sister's name is Anna and his Mum's name is Lucy! I love collecting chairs, so I would've snapped up that cute little rocking chair too!

  2. That skirt is gorgeous!! I love seeing the fabrics other people pair together, I must be so boring because I'd never think to put those two with each other but they look fantastic!!
Ahh the Camberwell market, everyone I know gets such great bargains there but I've never had a successful trip 🙁
